QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degree in structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in protein expression, purification, and biochemistry
• Strong desire to learn structural biology (if no previous experience in cryo-EM or crystallography)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to ethical research
• Good record-keeping and documentation habits
• Expertise in structural biology (cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography)
• Question-driven; willing to enter new research territories and/or acquire new techniques
• Resilient and positive approach to research and life as a scientist
• Experience with mammalian cell culture

• Lead structural biology and/or drug discovery project(s) by designing and performing experiments and analyzing results
• Keep clear records of experiments and protocols
• Communicate research with the PI, other lab members, and collaborative research groups
• Write and publish scientific manuscripts describing research findings
• Present research findings at national and international meetings/conferences
• Mentor junior scientists in the lab
