Postino is a restaurant, wine bar, and an intimate events space all rolled into one. With a menu of daily specials, snacks, fresh pasta, and Italian classics made from locally sourced ingredients, the venue combines high-quality, affordable dining with exceptional service.
We are seeking experienced hospitality professionals to join our opening team in a dual Senior Waiter role. Our ideal candidate is charismatic, guest-focused, and passionate about Italian food and wine. You will help deliver exceptional customer experiences across a variety of service styles including à la carte, group bookings, and events, in a 120-seat restaurant.

Essential Requirements

  • Full Australian working rights
  • Current NSW RSA Certificate
  • Minimum 1 - 3 years of premium dining experience and / or completed relevant hospitality studies
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Food & wine pairing experience
  • Proven experience using POS systems
  • Exceptional grooming and presentation
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Requirements

  • Formal hospitality training
  • Knowledge of Italian wine and cuisine
  • Experience using online reservation systems (e.g., SevenRooms)
  • Italian language skills are a bonus!

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage your own section during service and provide a warm, memorable guest experience
  • Prepare your section pre-service: ensure it is clean, fully stocked, and guest-ready
  • Provide detailed menu recommendations and explain our food philosophy
  • Recommend and deliver thoughtful food & wine pairings
  • Accurately take and process food and beverage orders
  • Check for dietary requirements and communicate them to the kitchen
  • Provide ongoing drinks service and support fellow waitstaff
  • Check in with guests during service and resolve any issues promptly
  • Ensure bills are accurate and presented correctly
  • Process cash and card payments
  • Assist in clearing and resetting tables and glassware as required
