OVERVIEW

Affinity Home Care is a compassionate, locally owned home care service dedicated to supporting families during the beautiful and often challenging postpartum period. We provide nurturing care for new parents and their babies, helping them rest, recover, and adjust to life with a newborn.
We are currently seeking Postpartum Caregivers/Night Nannies who are passionate about supporting families and creating a peaceful, supportive environment for both parents and babies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience caring for newborns (personal or professional)
  • A background in child care, nursing, doula support, or similar field is an asset but not required
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Compassionate, calm, and nurturing personality
  • Strong communication skills and ability to respect family boundaries and preferences
  • Reliable transportation to client homes

Responsibilities
  • Provide overnight or daytime care for newborns and infants
  • Support new parents with infant feeding (breastfeeding/bottle feeding), diaper changes, and soothing techniques
  • Light housekeeping related to infant care (e.g., sterilizing bottles, tidying nursery)
  • Offer emotional support and encouragement to parents adjusting to postpartum life
  • Monitor newborns during sleep to ensure safety and comfort
  • Assist with sleep routines (if requested by parents)
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect family preferences and parenting styles
