REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, UNTIL MARCH 2026

We are seeking a Pot-Washer/Catering Assistant to help us cover a period of maternity leave in our busy catering department. The cover is likely to be required until late March 2026.
You will assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, ensuring all pots, pans, utensils, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised. You will follow daily routines and our cleaning schedule. You will be based in our Senior School Kitchen, and may also be asked to work on the servery during lunch service, or in our Prep School or The Lodge Day Nursery if required.

Responsibilities
  • Washing, rinsing, and sanitising dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Keeping the pot wash area clean and tidy, including stacking dirty trays, using the pot wash, and ensuring items are washed and available.
  • Providing chefs with the necessary pots, pans, and other equipment for food preparation.
  • Sweeping, mopping, and cleaning floors, work surfaces, and equipment.
  • Emptying and disposing of waste bins and recycling materials.
  • Cleaning large kitchen equipment (including industrial fryers and brat-pan)
  • Be polite and helpful to pupils, staff and visitors at all times
  • Adhere to the C.O.S.H.H. regulations when using chemicals, always use protective wear.
  • Report any damaged or broken equipment to the Hospitality and Catering Personnel Manager, Catering Operations Manager or Head Chef
  • Work in a safe manner that does not endanger other employees (i.e. mop up spillages immediately).
  • Ensure after service that the daily cleaning schedule is carried out, and that the work areas are left clean and tidy with surfaces sanitised, and all rubbish removed.
