POULTRY CUTTER/PACKER/ABATTOIR OPERATIVE

  • Hours are 40 hrs plus per week on an any 5 out of 7 working week, generally a Monday to Thursday working one weekend day at our markets every other week.
  • Two mornings per week will be in our abattoir.
  • There is the opportunity to develop further skills, across red meat through a butchery training program.
  • We will be looking for an understanding of the food industry, a good work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Any experience in a food production environment, or knife skills will be advantageous.
  • Salary is dependent on experience.

    Fosse Meadows Farm is small farming business in North Kilworth LE17 6JD. Our business has a farm, poultry abattoir, factory line cutting, creative retail butchery and customer service. We have a growing team and are looking for energetic people to help us grow and expand our customer offer.
    We farm day-old to 12 week chickens weekly, producing 2,000 birds a week to sell at Farmer’s Markets, wholesalers and directly to retail customers online. We butcher red meat in-house and create our own high-margin products including; sausages, bacon, gammons, marinades, pies, sausage rolls, pate, jerky and broths. We also produce seasonal poultry, lamb, and hogget on the farm.
Responsibilities
  • Efficiently cut and prepare poultry according to company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and HACCP guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cutting area.
  • Monitor product quality during preparation processes.
  • Assist in training new staff on cutting techniques and safety practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
