Description Job Title: Powder Coater Department: Production Reports To: Production Supervisor Location: Harlan Global Manufacturing Position Summary Harlan Global Manufacturing is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Powder Coater to support our production operations. This role is responsible for the preparation, application, and finishing of powder-coated components used in heavy-duty industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will take pride in producing consistent, high-quality finishes while meeting production deadlines and maintaining strict safety standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare metal components for coating through cleaning, masking, sandblasting, and pre-treatment processes Apply powder coating using electrostatic spray equipment to meet company quality and thickness specifications Operate and monitor curing ovens, ensuring proper temperature control and cure cycles Inspect finished parts for coating defects, adhesion, and overall quality standards Perform rework or touch-ups as required to meet customer and internal specifications Maintain and clean powder coating equipment, booths, and work areas Track and record production output, defects, and rework in accordance with company procedures Coordinate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to ensure smooth workflow Follow all Harlan Global Manufacturing safety policies, including proper use of PPE and hazardous material handling Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and lean manufacturing practices Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 1–3+ years of powder coating, industrial painting, or metal finishing experience preferred Familiarity with electrostatic spray systems and curing ovens Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and coating specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift (8–10+ hours) Ability to lift and handle parts up to 50 lbs Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including heat and industrial conditions Use of respirators and other PPE required Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing facility producing industrial equipment Exposure to heat, dust, and airborne particulates Regular interaction with production machinery and material handling equipment Performance Expectations (KPIs) Meet daily and weekly production output targets Maintain first-pass quality rates and minimize rework Adhere to safety standards with zero preventable incidents Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area (5S compliance) Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Overtime opportunities available Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement plan Paid time off and company holidays
