JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to various structures and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work with a variety of tools and materials. The Painter will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality finishes that meet our standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure even coating and high-quality finishes
  • Manual dexterity and steady hands for spraying, masking, and handling parts
  • Familiarity with powder coating equipment (spray guns, hoppers, ovens, etc.)
  • Ability to read and follow job specs, blueprints, or technical drawings
  • Good physical stamina — ability to lift 30–50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in warm environments
  • Basic math skills for measuring coating thickness, temperature, and quantities
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures, including PPE use and proper handling of coating materials
  • Time management and reliability — showing up on time and completing jobs within deadlines
  • Team player mindset — willing to help others in the shop and communicate clearly

Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces of metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting for defects or contaminants.
  • Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, hoppers, ovens, and booths, ensuring proper application of powder materials.
  • Apply powder coating evenly and consistently to a variety of metal surfaces, following thickness specifications and finish requirements.
  • Cure coated parts in industrial ovens according to material and job specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for proper coverage, texture, adhesion, and overall finish quality; touch up as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of spray booth, tools, and work area to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Follow safety protocols including use of PPE (respirators, gloves, protective suits) and proper ventilation procedures.
  • Record production details, lot numbers, and coating data for QA/QC purposes.
  • Collaborate with team members from fabrication, welding, or assembly departments to ensure production flow.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or material shortages to supervisors promptly.
