Job Title: Power BI / Business Analytics Project Intern
Location: In Person @ Eastern Idaho Public Health – Idaho Falls Office - 1250 Hollipark Dr. Idaho Falls, ID 83401
Duration: 3 Months
Work Hours: Flexible, based on the intern’s needs. Part-time or full-time available.
Compensation: $10 an hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated Power BI / Business Analytics Intern with existing experience in business intelligence tools and analytics to support our data-driven initiatives. This role is ideal for an advanced student or recent graduate with hands-on experience in Power BI, who is ready to take ownership of meaningful projects and contribute to data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Power BI is required, including data modeling, DAX, and report publishing.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Power Query (M language).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with design, development, and optimizing interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business operations and strategic decision-making.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather and refine business requirements, ensuring data solutions meet end-user needs.
  • Clean, transform, and model data from various sources using Power Query, DAX, and SQL.Perform data validation, quality assurance, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrity.Contribute to ongoing analytics initiatives, including performance tracking, KPI development, and data visualization.
  • Document report logic, calculations, and data sources for ongoing maintenance and scalability.Support data storytelling by translating complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
