Description Position Overview We are looking for a Power BI Developer to transition from the Analytics team into our IT division, where you will build and maintain the reports, dashboards, and datasets that power data-driven decision-making across the organization. You bring foundational Power BI skills from your analytics work and will grow into a more technical role through hands-on training in IT-specific data visualization, enterprise reporting standards, and data governance practices. Why This Role Matters Our leadership and operations teams rely on accurate, timely data to manage revenue cycles for healthcare providers nationwide. The dashboards and reports you build will directly influence how teams identify bottlenecks, track KPIs, and make decisions that improve patient outcomes and financial performance. Your transition from Analytics means you already understand the data — now you will shape how the entire organization sees and acts on it. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and publish Power BI reports and dashboards aligned with business requirements Build and maintain data models within Power BI using DAX and Power Query (M language) Collaborate with senior developers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear, actionable visualizations Optimize report performance including DAX queries, data refresh schedules, and dataset management Connect to and integrate multiple data sources including SQL Server, Azure, APIs, SharePoint, and Excel Assist in migrating legacy reports to Power BI under senior developer guidance Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage workspace access controls to protect sensitive healthcare data Document data sources, transformations, report specifications, and business logic for maintainability Support IT and business teams in defining and delivering reporting requirements Requirements Required Qualifications 1+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and dimensional data modeling Experience connecting Power BI to SQL Server, Azure SQL, and cloud-based data sources Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, fact/dimension tables) Familiarity with Power BI Service for report publishing, sharing, and workspace management Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation Strong willingness to learn, take ownership of deliverables, and grow into more complex technical work Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Databricks Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis and automation Working toward Power BI certification (PL-300) Experience with healthcare or Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) data Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements for data handling and reporting Transfer Notes This position is designated as an internal transfer from the Analytics department. You bring existing Power BI experience that gives you a strong foundation. On-the-job training will cover IT-specific reporting requirements, enterprise data governance standards, and advanced BI architecture patterns. A streamlined interview process applies given the internal nature of this transition. What Success Looks Like In 90 days: You have onboarded to the IT reporting environment, published your first two dashboards, and are comfortable navigating the team's data sources and Power BI workspace In 6 months: You own a recurring reporting deliverable, have migrated at least three legacy reports to Power BI, and are contributing to data model design discussions Ongoing: You are a reliable, independent contributor to the BI team, consistently delivering high-quality reports and growing your technical skills toward a senior developer path
