About the Role
Our client in Edmonton is seeking a Power BI Developer with strong DAX skills and experience in a Microsoft environment. You will be building a brand-new analytics solution, approximately 7 major dashboards and multiple reports, leveraging Microsoft Fabric for data ingestion and modeling.
This hybrid role is ideal for someone who can work independently, act as a mini Business Analyst, and hit the ground running. You will gather requirements, create proof-of-concepts, and deliver dashboards that drive business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and DAX measures.
Use Microsoft Fabric to ingest, transform, and model data.
Write and optimize SQL queries; leverage Python or R for advanced analysis where needed.
Work closely with the internal database resource to understand data schemas and structures.
Present insights and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a Power BI Developer or similar BI role.
Strong expertise in DAX and dashboard/report creation.
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or other modern data platforms.
Solid SQL skills; Python or R experience is an asset.
Ability to gather requirements, create proof-of-concepts, and deliver independently.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
