POWER BI REPORT SERVER ADMINISTRATOR:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Power BI Report Server Administrator for a 2 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

POWER BI REPORT SERVER ADMINISTRATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly experienced Power BI Report Server Administrator to lead a software currency remediation project. The role involves server upgrades to address identified vulnerabilities, ensuring the high availability and performance of reporting solutions.

POWER BI REPORT SERVER ADMINISTRATOR - MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure or BI administration roles.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Power BI Report Server.
• 5+ years of experience with server migrations, including Windows Server, SQL Server, and Power BI Report Server.
• 8+ years of experience with SQL Server, including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, performance tuning, and database management.
• Previous experience working in a project-based environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

POWER BI REPORT SERVER ADMINISTRATOR – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Previous experience working with TOP 5 Banks/FI.
• PowerShell scripting for task automation and server configuration management.
• Familiarity with Azure, especially Power BI Service, Azure SQL, and Azure Active Directory.

• Installation and configuration of the Power BI Report Server, including web portal setup and advanced configurations.
• Managing user access, permissions, and security roles within the Power BI Report Server environment.
• Monitoring server performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal operation.
• Implementing and maintaining data governance policies and best practices.
• Identifying and resolving issues related to the Power BI Report Server.
• Managing upgrades, patches, and migrations of the Power BI Report Server environment.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting scheduled data refreshes for reports and datasets.
• Creating and maintaining documentation related to the Power BI Report Server environment and solutions.
• Providing training and knowledge transfer to colleagues regarding Power BI Report Server usage and best practices.
• Implementing and enforcing governance policies and best practices for the Power BI Report Server environment.
• Monitoring capacity and planning for future needs of the Power BI Report Server.
• Collaborating with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation.
