Job Description: ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Repair, install, and adjust automatic swinging and sliding commercial doors. Detail-oriented to accurately complete necessary paperwork, including work orders, quality assurance check sheets, and walking the customer through the services rendered on each job. Present neat and clean appearance personally and in workmanship, in accordance with company policies. Maintain good customer relations and customer service. Basic power tools will be provided. QUALIFICATIONS Must have at least 2 years’ experience in the commercial door industry. Must have working experience with automatic doors, storefront doors, and electrified hardware. AAADM certification or able to obtain within 3 months. Must be knowledgeable in electrical wiring and understand the theory of integrating into card access systems. Must be able to read blueprints or schematics. Must be able to use power and hand tools safely and effectively. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach above head with hands and arms, lift, push, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl, pull, talk and hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with a pay range of $38.21-$47.73 per hour, as negotiated under the terms of the agreement. All pay rates, benefits, and employment terms are determined and administered by the union. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. This position requires the ability, and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to move and/or lift objects regularly up to 50 pounds. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate 3-5 years minimum in the Security and Access Control systems field Power Limited License (PLT) required Work as an apprentice LV technician 40 hours per week. Valid driver’s license required. Ability to pass the Electrician’s Trade Aptitude Test. Attend class one day per week through Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (free). Wages are based on the union scale and increase based on the number of hours worked. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
