Description
Responsible for the specification, design, development, and validation of on-board power conversion modules. Develop and ensure robust interface with vehicle and accessory modules. Develop and work with supplier and Ford approved test labs to execute EMC test plans. Develop a solution that meet regional standards and code compliance including IEC, GBT, UL and CE standards from IEEE, and others. Ensure designs meet functional safety standards. Provide HW support to resolve user concerns, investigate and troubleshoot system faults and errors. Excellent HW circuit simulation and design skills, the ability to articulate defects with detail, and excellent verbal/written communication skills while working with local/remote teams. Knowledge in the application of various high-power switching technologies / semiconductor materials (SiC and GaN). Experience with development tools and methods for the design of power conversion technologies and their magnetic components. Excellent knowledge of the thermal challenges of high-power converter design Strong communicator, able to effectively present to technical audiences. Team player comfortable working in a diverse group in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Self-starting with solid follow-through and multitasking abilities; able to work with limited supervision. Master of Science or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering. 2+ years of working experience in power electronics designs and development of devices such as DC/AC inverters, DC/DC converters, and HV battery chargers.
