POWER ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Power Engineer to join our Maintenance team at ADL Fitzroy. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining boilers, air compressors, and other essential plant equipment to ensure the safe and efficient production of steam and compressed air to meet plant requirements. You will also monitor system performance, conduct water treatment tests, and assist with general maintenance activities to keep our facility running smoothly.
Location: ADL Fitzroy – 215 Fitzroy St., Charlottetown, PE

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate (required).
  • Experience operating and maintaining boilers and air compressors in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor equipment repairs.
  • Knowledge of water treatment systems and boiler chemical testing considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and respond effectively to operational demands.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain boilers, air compressors, and other steam and air equipment to meet plant production needs.
  • Monitor and adjust steam pressure and system performance according to plant demands.
  • Perform daily equipment checks, readings, and minor maintenance repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Conduct boiler water and softener chemical tests; manually add chemicals and change barrels when required.
  • Complete work orders, log readings, and document usage and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Assist with general plant maintenance tasks and support other team members when needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
