Description

As Power Infrastructure Development Manager (m/f/d) you will be joining a team which is securing and successfully delivering of power infrastructure is a key component of our data center business. The mission of the team is to ensure power is secured on time, budget and with sufficient capacity.

The objectives of the team are to:

  • Manage and leverage commercial risk on all activities to do with power infrastructureMaintain compliance with regulatory requirements of power connection

  • The role belongs to the Global Infrastructure Division (GID) and is part of building the EMEA Front End Planning Team as a Development Manager of Power Infrastructure (m/f/d) on new and existing facilities. The scope focuses on HV / MV power connections and involves securing power capacity through connection agreements, managing timely delivery of required infrastructure from the point of connection to site.

Responsibilities
  • Manage electrical utility, project management consultants, right of way (easements), substation contractors and owner’s engineers for transmission works & substations to deliver end to end HV / MV power infrastructure on time, on budget and to specifications.
  • Manage and co-ordinate with internal stakeholders including Planning, Real estate, Design, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Finance & Commissioning teams.
  • Investment Tasks:
  • Study, understand and have view on regional power infrastructure network and utility planning and changes to the broader power infrastructure.
  • Undertake power due diligence for new or proposed data center sites to check power availability and feasibility.
  • Managing agreements – entering into connection agreement; contracting the right capacity.
  • Development Tasks:
  • Develop and execute strategies that leverage capital projects (utility grid connections, high voltage substations, energy storage, etc) to reduce costs.
  • Identify and develop innovative cost savings projects and initiatives related to power infrastructure.
  • Report on key project risks & issues at senior management level.
  • Working with the utility providers to deliver HV / MV substations including external HV / MV supply lines
  • Leading on the management of the electrical HV primary and secondary systems through the entire project delivery period.
  • Reviewing technical design and specifications.
  • Managing design consultants, contractors and partners as crucial relationships.
  • Using your design knowledge to ensure all lessons learned are captured for subsequent delivery phases.
  • Review contractor pre-qualifications and advise on best practice.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is prioritised on site
  • Manage commissioning protocols throughout the project life cycle.
  • Review and manage the engineering documentation.
