POWER PLATFORM DEVELOPER

  • SNSW Grade 9/10 - base salary from $130,705 to $157,430
  • Location – Haymarket, Gosford or Parramatta
  • 1 x Ongoing Full-Time

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building robust solutions using Microsoft Power Platform—including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven), Power Automate, Power Pages, and Dataverse—in a complex or enterprise setting.
  • Demonstrated success in designing user-friendly, responsive apps tailored for frontline teams, prioritising performance, accessibility, and simplicity to support daily operations.
  • Strong grasp of data modelling, environments, security roles, and storage architecture within the Power Platform, including effective use of Microsoft Dataverse.
  • Experience developing with Power FX, advanced formulas, conditional logic, and dynamic controls to optimise app usability and functionality.
  • Solid understanding of integration methods, including connecting apps with Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, and third-party APIs using REST services and custom connectors.
  • Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, including developers, automation specialists, BI analysts, and SharePoint teams, to deliver cohesive, business-aligned solutions.
  • Familiarity with code review practices, DevOps processes, and secure application development lifecycles.
  • Working knowledge of supporting technologies such as JavaScript, C#, SQL, and API integrations.
  • Commitment to solution quality, scalability, and maintainability—demonstrated through rigorous testing, documentation, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Power Platform certifications (such as Power Platform Developer Associate) are highly desirable.
    Support office roles will be headquartered across McKell, Parramatta and Gosford. We will consider role headquarters outside of the above locations where the role can reasonably be performed from that location taking into consideration the operational, financial and customer requirements of the role, and an ability to attend a NSW Government workplace as required.
    Salary Service NSW Grade 9/10 with the base salary for this role starting at $130705 base plus superannuation

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a skilled Power Platform Developer who thrives in building business-ready, user-focused apps using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and related tools. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to create secure, scalable, and intuitive digital solutions that enhance frontline and operational performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Power Platform Developer, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of both Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps, ensuring intuitive user experiences across desktop and mobile.
  • Develop reusable components, including custom connectors, templates, themes, and UI elements to support consistent design and faster delivery.
  • Connect Power Apps with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Automate, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, and third-party APIs to streamline business processes and data flows.
  • Leverage Power Automate and Logic Apps to automate workflows, notifications, and backend integrations.
  • Implement advanced logic using Power FX, conditional controls, dynamic forms, and validation rules.
  • Optimize application performance across screen sizes, platforms, and user types, including frontline staff.
  • Contribute to establishing governance frameworks for app lifecycle management, data usage, and security.
  • Provide hands-on technical support, including issue triaging, debugging, release readiness, and production support.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Automation, Software Engineering, SharePoint, Data & BI, and Architecture to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Power Platform capabilities and contribute to solution reviews and design walkthroughs.
  • Conduct thorough unit testing, system testing, and peer code reviews to ensure apps meet high standards of reliability, usability, and performance.
  • Apply security-by-design principles, managing roles, permissions, and data access appropriately.
  • Deliver training, demos, and documentation to promote self-service usage and platform adoption across business teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency, reusability, and performance through ongoing review and innovation.
