Context:
The Power Supply Design Lead to oversee the design, development, and integration of power supply systems for a metro project. The role involves leading the power supply design team, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards, and coordinating with various stakeholders to deliver efficient and reliable power solutions.

Missions/Main Duties:

• Lead the power supply design process for metro systems, including traction power, auxiliary power, and distribution networks.
• Develop and review technical specifications, design reports, schematics, and layouts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant international and local standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, signaling, rolling stock, and systems integration teams.
• Perform load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
• Develop and oversee substation, transformers, and power equipment designs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage interfaces between power supply systems and other metro subsystems.
• Support procurement activities by providing technical evaluations and reviewing vendor proposals.
• Oversee testing and commissioning plans to ensure compliance with design specifications and operational requirements.
• Address and resolve technical challenges and ensure risk mitigation strategies are in place.
• Prepare and present progress reports, risk assessments, and design documentation to project stakeholders.

Profile/Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in power supply design, preferably in metro/railway infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC traction power systems, HV/LV power distribution, and substation design.
• Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, MATLAB, or similar.
• Familiarity with power electronics, protection systems, and SCADA integration.
• Proven leadership experience in managing design teams and liaising with clients and contractors.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
