WHO WE ARE SEARCHING

We are seeking for a highly skilled Power System Engineer with Software development and Signal processing expertise. This position requires a strong power system knowledge, with particular focus on fault location in distribution networks, and some software development skills. The primary responsibility is to develop and implement new algorithms and automate R&D processes.

  • Workplace: Milan, Italy
  • Starting date: from 01 March 2025
  • Duration and rate: Permanent, 80 to 100%

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • MSc in Power System domain (preferably Electrical Engineering).
  • +5 years experience in R&D.
  • Knowledge of power system operational practices, protections, and fault location, especially in distribution networks.
  • Good programming skills in Python and Matlab.
  • Knowledge of simulation software programs, like Power Factory, PandaPower, EMTP-RV, and of version-control tools (e.g., Git).
  • Independent, organized and structured way of working, with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of French, German or Italian is welcome.
Responsibilities
  • Development and implementation of algorithms related to power grid management, with particular focus on fault location in distribution networks.
  • Build and document software algorithms to accelerate R&D and product development processes.
  • Assist the software development team in the implementation/integration of the developed algorithms in Zaphiro’s products.
  • Responsible for the complete R&D project cycle, from design to experimental validation.
  • Interact with customers and partners to define the technical requirements of new power grid functions to be integrated in our solution.
