ABOUT THE ROLE

Do you have passion working with a diverse, collaborative team to lead decarbonization and the advancement of Renewable Energy in Power Grids? Are you excited working on electric grid transmission planning, generation, large load interconnection such as data centers ?
DNV Energy Systems group has an exciting opportunity for a Power System Study Engineer in its Renewables & Power Grids service area. Our team provides creative, cost effective and practical solutions to stakeholders in the power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. The Engineer must demonstrate vision and drive and be passionate about contributing to the growth of the Power Systems Advisory business in North America. The ideal candidate will contribute in delivering technical insights and providing customers with excellent customer service.

WHAT YOU LL DO

  • Perform electrical System Impact Studies such as Steady State, Dynamic and Transient Stability analyses for generation, large load interconnections in PSS/E
  • Perform Short Circuit studies in ASPEN
  • Perform Voltage ride through (VRT) tests, dynamic model quality tests, model benchmarking
  • Perform transmission planning & compliance assessments for bulk electric power system in PSS/E
  • Produce and/or review technical reports and presentations for external Customers
  • Timely completion of projects assigned while meeting project quality and project budget
  • Develop or modify automation scripts to enhance the efficiency, speed and accuracy of technical simulations
  • Stay up to date with relevant NERC, ISO/RTO planning procedures, policy changes and developments
  • Contribute to the team s research and innovation activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to further the team s performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvements
  • Cultivate customer relationships, technical advisory support for generations, and large load interconnections connecting to transmission system
