Job Description The company is seeking Electrical Power System Technicians with strong technical skills and field experience to support major data center projects nationwide. The primary responsibility is to perform new installation visual, and mechanical, and electricalinspections of medium voltage (MV) gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and low voltage (LV) switchboards, along with supporting commissioning and troubleshooting tasks. This role requires extensive national travel and the ability to work independently in fast-paced data center construction environments. Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed visual and mechanical inspections of newly installed MV GIS switchgear and LV switchboards. Ensure installations meet manufacturer requirements, project specifications, and industry standards. Produce detailed reports including inspection checklists, photographs, and technical documentation. Support commissioning activities including device configuration, testing, andissue resolution. Perform troubleshooting on control wiring as needed. Collaborate with contractors, OEM representatives, and project managers to resolve installation or configuration issues. Follow strict electrical safety practices (OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Infinity TSD safety procedures). Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate project records. Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams while representing Infinity TSD professionally. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience with medium and/or low voltage electrical power distribution equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in field environments. Willingness to travel nationally over 80% of the time. Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass background and drug screening requirements. Preferred Skills & Experience Protection & Control / Automation: Experience working with SEL protective relays, including using acSELerator to install settings files. Experience with SEL RTAC configuration and troubleshooting. Experience with basic PLC configuration, including downloading, uploading, and troubleshooting programs. Ability to troubleshoot Modbus and Modbus TCP/IP networks for industrial communication devices. Familiarity with IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging and troubleshooting. Power Distribution Equipment & Systems: General knowledge of medium voltage switchgear construction, installation, startup, and troubleshooting. General knowledge of low voltage switchboards (UL 891) construction, installation, startup, and troubleshooting. General knowledge of low voltage circuit breakers, including power circuit breakers and molded case circuit breakers. Ability to interpret and implement circuit breaker trip unit settings, including reading coordination studies and adjusting settings. General knowledge of electrical power meter setup, including IP address configuration. Working Conditions Extensive nationwide travel to data center construction sites. Work performed exclusively on data center projects, often in active construction or commissioning phases. Physical requirements include standing, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around electrical equipment following strict safety protocols. JOB INFORMATION Job Type: Full Time/Hourly Salary: $35/hr - $45/hr Hours Per Week: 40+ Overtime: Overtime will be paid 1 and ½ rate. Up to 10 hrs. of expected OT Workweek: Schedule changes by project, since we are working on customer locations and on their schedules, work can change from days to nights and is not predictable. Shifts: There is no shift work, it is dependent on scope of work and customer site schedules. Is there a shift premium? Premium is paid for working beyond 40 hours in a week or working on company recognized holidays. On company paid holidays Technicians receive 8 hours of paid time off. If they happen to work on the holiday, they will receive 1.5x pay rate and will also still receive 8 hours of pay. Extra days? Extra days are often expected, but unknown as it depends on the project. Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or closely related field Physical requirements: Job requires traveling to customer facilities, climbing stairs, ladders, walking over uneven terrain, lifting test equipment and materials typically no more than 50lbs.
