Description Riggs Power Systems is hiring an experienced Power Field Technician to service and repair power generation equipment, including diesel and gas engines, generators, switchgear, and complex electrical systems. This field-based role supports our customers by delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service. What You’ll Do: Diagnose and repair engines, generators, switchgear, and electrical components Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and load bank testing Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using CAT software, schematics, and service manuals Support start-ups and commissioning on new power system installations Provide accurate service documentation and clear communication with the team and clients Participate in an on-call rotation Represent Riggs with professionalism and strong customer service Requirements What You Bring: Min 3+ years of Power Systems experience with diesel/gas engines, generators, switchgear, or power generation systems Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills Experience with CAT 3500 & 3600 series engines Oil and Gas field experience Experience with start-up and commissioning highly preferred Familiarity with CAT, Cummins, or similar OEM systems Ability to read wiring diagrams and use laptop-based diagnostics Valid driver’s license; ability to work independently Willingness to travel (up to 50% overnight) IMPORTANT INFORMATION While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
