Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This opportunity has arisen from our ongoing success and growth in the renewable energy sector. We are looking for a Powersystems Studies Engineer.
As part of the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for defining the strategy and methodology for conducting simulation and modelling studies to demonstrate compliance with relevant ENA standards, Distribution and Grid code in line with Powersystems’ strategy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce and review steady state compliance studies: Load Flow, Reactive Power Capability, Power Quality (P28/P29), Harmonics (G55), Insulation Coordination, Arc Flash, Protection Coordination.
  • Undertake and manage in-house simulation studies for generation connections using industry-standard software.
  • Review external consultant studies for compliance with ENA standards, Distribution Code, and Grid Code.
  • Develop internal processes and templates to guide system study delivery.
  • Mentor and train in-house engineers; identify training needs and coordinate external training.
  • Provide technical support to Electrical Design Engineers.
  • Attend client meetings and provide expert technical input.
  • Ensure all designs are CDM and HSE compliant and include risk assessments.
  • Manage timely delivery of high-quality simulation studies reflecting Powersystems standards.
  • Attend and contribute to client, consultant, DNO and TNO coordination meetings.
  • Drive improvements in efficiency, service delivery, and innovation.
