Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity This role sits within our Roslyn, Palmerston North team who operates service and construction contracts at various sites across the country.  We provide penalty rates, allowances / accommodation and meals. Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Power Technician will play a crucial role in delivering expert support for protection systems and SCADA maintenance and installations. Your contributions will directly bolster the reliability and performance for our clients, helping keep communities safe, connected, and progressing forward. Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills You’re a qualified tradesperson who takes pride in the quality and safety of your work. You enjoy working as part of a skilled field team, and bring strong practical experience with: * New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Supply (Power Technician) (Level 5) or relevant Trade, tertiary or diploma is required. * Relevant EWRB Electrical Registration and current Practising licence * Extensive working knowledge of the use and application of test equipment (Omicron & Megger) associated with the power industry. * Strong experience working on HV protection systems and substation equipment, experience with SEL & Siemens relays preferable. * Demonstrable experience in installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of High Voltage protection systems/schemes. * Experience with maintenance and installation of SCADA and communication equipment.  * Full NZ Class 1 Driver's License This role is ideal for someone willing to work away from home and travel around New Zealand for major renewable projects.
