Due to the growth of our business, we have an opening for Transformer Testing Technicians to join our team.
Major Areas of Responsibilities
Make appropriate electrical connections necessary to perform production tests of oil-type power transformers, including Turns Ratio, DC Resistance, Insulation Resistance, Power Factor, Loss Measurement, Impulse, Hi-Pot, PD tests, etc.
General testing of power transformers & control cabinets, following documented operation instructions and schematics.
Perform work based on general manufacturing instructions.
Requirements
College Diploma in Electrical Technology or equivalent.
Ability to read electrical schematics & drawings and understand 2D & 3D sketches.
Basic awareness of manufacturing environment and use of production tools.
Work independently with minimal technical direction and supervision
Ability to communicates in English (spoken, read/write)
Physical requirements: Climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift minimal to heavy materials.
Manual dexterity, work from heights and ability to stand for extended periods.
General use of hand and power tools
Complete work within expected periods of time.
Work safely, using all safety equipment supplied.
Communicate well with colleagues and supervisors.
Complete shop records accurately.
Forklift and/or overhead crane operation experience an asset.
