Description

MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent training/experience required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with power generating systems, controls and distribution of at least 10 Mega Watts.
  • Ability to read and write English is required.
  • Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, passport from their country have ability to obtain any visa required.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Inspect, test, operate, maintain, and repair power-production systems and the electrical distribution grid to ensure 24/7 mission support for stable, reliable power to all facilities IAW DAFMAN 32-1061, AFMAN 32-1062, AFMAN 32-1065, UFC 3-560-01, NFPA 70-E, and UFC 3-540-07 to support the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) on Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF) IAW the PWS and applicable laws, codes, guidelines, criteria, and standards. The main Powerhouse includes both Caterpillar (CAT) and Perkins generators. There are also mobile generators (on wheel carts) and standby generators for backup power at facilities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and repair generators including engine, switchgear, batteries, manual switch or ATS systems, and auto start systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of all generators (both stationary and mobile), fuel systems, and ATS assets/systems.
  • Perform maintenance and cycling of all generators. Switch mission power from prime to backup where available to ensure units are operational and support mission requirements.
  • Maintain an operational log at each generator to include oil analysis and refueling cycles and recording information on an AF Form 487 and AF Form 719.
  • Operate and provide full-service maintenance of the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG), utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and associated electrical distribution systems.
  • Monitor and record energy production from the WTG and submit production data as part of the monthly Energy Program Management Report.
