Description:
Responsibilities:
- Always work safely, adhere to all aspects of the NTPC Health & Safety and Environmental programs, comply with all rules & regulations, and continually practice health & safety while performing any duties.
- Restores transmission and distribution systems when there is a power disturbance failure, or storm damage by locating the source of the problem, replacing and/or repairing defective power lines and accessories.
- Completes pole and conductor replacement on distribution Transmission systems throughout the NWT Power Corporation. [120v to 115KV]
- Constructs single phase and three phase transmission and distribution lines (5KV to 115KV). Includes installation of three phase transformer banks.
- Performs routine line and substation maintenance and inspections
- Follows single line diagrams and designs and completes switching procedures and reports in accordance to the Work Protection Code.
- Monitors material, equipment and related costs used on various work orders on a daily and weekly basis. Completes all paper work in a timely manner.
- Works with and assists other trades and contractors and provides guidance and training to apprentice power linepersons, casuals and/or helpers as required.
- You will be required to provide training to and receive training from co-workers, as well as perform other responsibilities in applicable areas within your work unit as assigned by the group leader/supervisor.
