The Northland School Division is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented PowerSchool Attendance Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled at managing student attendance data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with division and provincial regulations. Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within a school setting. Experience using a student information system, such as PowerSchool, is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency using Google Workspace tools and strong data entry skills.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of attendance policies and procedures in an educational environment. Familiarity with the structure and functions of The Northland School Division is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and highly accurate in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve attendance discrepancies and issues efficiently
Responsibilities
  • Manage Student Attendance Data: Accurately verify and maintain all student attendance records using the PowerSchool Student Information System. This includes daily attendance, lates, early dismissals, and excused/unexcused absences.
  • Generate Reports: Regularly create and distribute attendance reports to school and division administrators. These reports include attendance and chronic absenteeism data, and other key metrics.
  • Ensure Compliance: Stay up-to-date on all Northland School Division and provincial attendance policies and regulations. Ensure all attendance data and reporting are compliant with these requirements.
  • Communicate Effectively: Serve as the primary point of contact for attendance-related inquiries from school administration, secretaries and division leadership. Communicate clearly and professionally to resolve issues and provide necessary information.
  • Maintain Records: Review and verify attendance documentation and other supporting materials.
  • Provide Training: Assist in training school staff on proper attendance procedures and the effective use of the PowerSchool attendance tools.
