JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a seasoned PPC Engineer with a strong mechanical engineering background to manage and optimize the production planning and control functions in a heavy steel fabrication setup. The role involves coordinating between engineering, procurement, and production to ensure timely delivery of fabrication projects with a focus on quality, cost-efficiency, and productivity.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7 to 15 years of relevant experience in PPC within a heavy steel fabrication environment.
  • Deep understanding of fabrication processes: cutting, bending, rolling, welding, NDT, painting, and assembly.
  • Strong experience with production planning tools, Excel, and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP).
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards like ASME, AWS, ISO 9001, etc.
  • Experience in project-based fabrication for sectors like Oil & Gas, Power, Construction, or Marine (preferred).

    Production Manager / Plant Head / Operations Head
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement detailed production schedules, aligning with client deadlines and project milestones.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and BOMs to estimate man-hours, material requirements, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with the design, procurement, and manufacturing teams for workflow optimization.
  • Monitor fabrication progress of heavy steel structures such as pressure vessels, structural steel, tanks, platforms, skid assemblies, etc.
  • Track and report key production KPIs: output vs. plan, material availability, bottlenecks, and delivery adherence.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation: manpower, machines, raw materials.
  • Maintain inventory control and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Conduct capacity planning and load balancing for machines like CNCs, welding bays, and cutting lines.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage planning and reporting activities.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead Lean or Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Liaise with QA/QC for ensuring quality standards at each production stage.
