Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description We are looking for an Automation & AI Solutions Engineer to help drive digital transformation and operational excellence across LSG – Global GSCC Business Excellence. In this role, you will design, build, and scale intelligent automation and/or AI-enabled solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and service quality across the business. You will work at the intersection of business and technology—partnering with stakeholders across regions to translate complex business challenges into practical, secure, and scalable digital solutions. Your work will focus on maximizing the value of existing enterprise platforms while delivering secure, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and service quality. DESCRIPTION How you will make an impact: You will drive digital transformation by building intelligent automation and AI-enabled solutions that enhance operational excellence. What you will do: Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation and AI solutions that address business requirements and operational challenges. Build dashboards, applications, APIs, and monitoring tools using platforms such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Python among others. Leverage existing enterprise platforms, licenses, and low-code tools to deliver cost-efficient, standardized solutions. Test, debug, and continuously improve automation workflows to ensure reliability, performance, security, and scalability. Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders across regions to align solutions with enterprise standards and enable global deployment when applicable. Document technical solutions into clear documentation, including system architectures, development standards, and solution guidelines to ensure long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer. Act as a technology advisor by recommending practical, secure, and sustainable solutions aligned with corporate IT governance and strategic GSCC priorities. Contribute to PPI-driven initiatives and participate in knowledge-sharing, capability development, and continuous improvement activities in alignment with GSCC and corporate objectives. REQUIREMENTS How you will get here: Skills: Solid foundation in AI, software development and automation. Practical experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt design, API integration, and workflow orchestration. Understanding of AI solution monitoring, error handling, and operational reliability in enterprise environments. Ability to translate complex business needs into simple, scalable technical solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a solution-oriented approach. Strong capability to influence, communicate, and collaborate across functions and regions. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Professional maturity, discretion, and accountability in dealing with internal customers. Collaborative team player with high ownership mentality. Strong ability to leverage existing digital ecosystems to deliver innovative solutions without unnecessary complexity or cost. Experience: Solid foundation in automation, software development, and AI solutions. Experience integrating AI solutions and APIs into business applications. Good experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI). Basic to intermediate project management experience. Experience developing automation or AI solutions within Thermo Fisher Scientific environments, platforms, or workflows is a strong advantage. Knowledge of Python programming is highly desirable. Education: A Master Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is desired or the equivalent knowledge and experience. Language: Fluent verbal and written English.
