Description

Trade Recruit is looking on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected building services company, for a skilled Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Engineer with a strong electrical background.
This is a mobile role covering a variety of commercial and residential sites across Central and Greater London. The role involves ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant, and operating at peak efficiency through high-quality planned maintenance, fault finding, and reactive repairs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in building services, facilities maintenance, or electrical engineering.
  • Recognised electrical qualifications, including:
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
  • 2391/2394 Testing & Inspection (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance in commercial and residential environments.
  • CSCS/ECS Card (advantageous).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Attend and resolve reactive maintenance issues within agreed timescales.
  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and testing to ensure systems meet regulatory standards.
  • Work on a wide range of systems, including:
  • Distribution boards and wiring systems
  • Emergency lighting
  • Fire alarm testing and maintenance
  • Lighting and small power installations
  • HVAC controls (desirable)
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, site managers, and contractors in a professional manner.
  • Take part in a 1-in-6 call-out rota and cover occasional overtime.
  • Ensure company vehicle, tools, and equipment are kept in good condition.
