Responsibilities

ABOUT THE TEAM AND THE ROLE

Our Brand Marketing team is here to grow love for our brand-boosting awareness and helping more people see us as the go-to for all things home. Whether it’s encouraging our lovely existing customers to pop back in more often, or welcoming new faces to discover what we’re all about, we do it all under our brand platform: ‘The Home of Homes.’
You’ll be helping to spread the word about Dunelm, not just what we sell, but who we are as a brand. Working closely with lifestyle, interiors and national press, you’ll help get our name (and our lovely products) into the right hands and headlines. It’s all about building brand love, keeping our loyal customers inspired, and giving new or lapsed ones a reason to take another look. Think of it as helping people fall in love with Dunelm, one press mention at a time.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Being the friendly face (or inbox) for media requests – quick, helpful, and always on-brand.
  • Building brilliant relationships with journalists and becoming their go-to for all things home and style.
  • Writing press releases and e-alerts that people actually want to read.
  • Keeping our sample process ticking along nicely – from image requests to product loans and everything in between.
  • Making sure our image library is up to date, well-labelled, and ready for its close-up on PR Shots and Press Loft.
  • Supporting our agencies to deliver campaigns that make people say “ooh, I love that!”
  • Keeping our press lists fresh and full of the right contacts.
  • Monitoring coverage and helping us understand what’s working (and what’s just wallpaper).
  • Working with our Insights & Analytics team to track online coverage and share what’s driving traffic.
  • Helping plan and run events – from the first brainstorm to the last box packed away.
  • Briefing creative teams and agencies so everything looks and sounds just right.
  • Coordinating product orders for events and press opportunities.
  • Being hands-on at events – setting up, packing down, and everything in between.
  • Learning from every event and helping us do it even better next time.
  • Supporting the PR Manager with seasonal lookbooks – from shoot planning to final sign-off.
  • Creating thoughtful gifting mailers that get people talking (and posting).
  • Teaming up with our influencer crew to make sure our messages are aligned and amplified.
  • Keeping an eye on the media landscape and spotting opportunities before they land in our inbox.
  • Attending internal meetings and keeping calendars and decks up to date.

Here’s what will help you shine in this role:

  • You’re a strong communicator – whether it’s writing a snappy email or chatting through ideas in a meeting.
  • You’ve got top-notch logistical skills and can create clear, shareable plans that keep everyone on track.
  • You’ve got a genuine interest in homewares and interiors, and you know your way around the media landscape, from glossy mags to online features and the odd telly spot.
  • You understand how the media works, deadlines, lead times, and what makes a story land.
  • You’re great at digging into the detail, researching, sharing insights, and supporting campaigns with the right info at the right time.
  • You’re budget-savvy and always thinking about how to get the most out of every penny we spend
