About the Role A1 is building a proactive AI system that carries work forward across conversations, tools, and time. As a Communications Manager, you will own A1’s external positioning in the China market and will be responsible for media relations, public communications strategy, and execution across digital and traditional media channels. What You'll Do Develop and execute external communications strategies tailored to China’s media landscape Build and maintain relationships with relevant media (social media channels, podcasts, tech press, mainstream outlets) Pitch story angles and secure interview and placement opportunities Write and edit media materials including press pitches, narrative briefs, and messaging docs Coordinate media engagements, ensuring clear messaging and timely follow-ups Track media coverage, report outcomes, and adjust approach based on results Advise on appropriate channels and formats for external engagement in China Maintain organized records of outreach, placements, and messaging assets What You'll Need Proven experience in communications, media relations, PR, or strategic outreach Experience working with technology or AI companies preferred Proven track record securing media coverage or placements in China Strong understanding of China’s digital and traditional media ecosystem Excellent writing and editing skills in Chinese; solid English communication ability Ability to translate technical and complex content into clear external narratives Self-starter mindset with ability to plan and execute independently How We Work The best products today in the world were built by small, world class teams.
