Practice Leader, Australia reports to the President of Europe and Asia Pacific and oversees all facets of the Division. The Practice Leader is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the President Europe and Asia Pacific, the CEO and other executive leadership to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. Directs operations to accomplish strategic goals set by President of Europe and Asia Pacific and the CEO to improve financial performance and drive growth. Duties and responsibilities as they align to Ryan’s Key Results People: Create a positive team member experience Monitors performance and adjusts processes to keep division on track. Responds to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities. Value: Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate their Division’s fiscal function and performance Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the executives as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline Provide strategic input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization (e.g., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, and/or mergers) Functions as top adviser to CEO; meets regularly with CEO to provide Division updates and suggestions for improvements Plans and directs operations to support strategic goals; holds leaders accountable to the strategic plan by setting defined goals and measuring results against the goals Establishes best practices and policies Resolves daily issues that arise. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a relevant field from a four-year college or university required; Master’s degree preferred; at least 10 years of professional software and service experience preferred. Knowledge of modern software and platform architecture and framework is a plus. Industry expertise a big plus. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills in Microsoft® Office and Internet navigation and research. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will have direct reports. Work Environment: Standard indoor working environment. Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer. Occasional long periods of standing while copying. Position requires regular interaction with coworkers and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
