The Team Intensive Restoration is designed to actively engage and intensively support parents with children in Out of Home Care (OOHC) to work towards addressing the concerns that led to the children entering OOHC. It aims to safely restore children into the care of their parents using a supported approach.    The Intensive Restoration Program supports families in the home and helps families to work out what is working well, what can improve, and what they would like to change so that children can safety been restored into the care of their parents and family network.   The program operates as part of the broader Family Preservation team, with practitioners often working collaboratively across, and contributing to, other family preservation services to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to supporting families. About the Role The Children, Young Persons and their Families Act 1997 provides the legal mandate for the department to take action to protect children and young people from abuse and neglect and promote their safety stability and development. Child Safety Workers have a specific statutory role in protecting children and young people from harm and promoting their rights and healthy development.  The Practice Leader for the Intensive Restoration Program is responsible for coordinating supports for families who have been assessed as suitable for restoration.   This includes liaising with key stakeholders and ensuring interventions are aligned with best practice and the overarching case plan. We are looking for Essential * Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment * A tertiary qualification approved by the relevant National Board, for example a Bachelor of Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the relevant National Board or professional association; or  * An alternative tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties, for example Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology, Bachelor of Youth Work, Bachelor of Psychological Science; or  * An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (AQF Level 5 or 6 Qualification) in a discipline considered relevant to the duties, for example a Diploma in Community Services. * Current Driver’s Licence * The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
