Upper Beaconsfield GP Practice is a well-established, private billing, AGPAL-accredited general practice located in a beautiful semi-rural community. We are a registrar training clinic with a strong reputation for high-quality, patient-centred care. Our friendly and collaborative team includes GPs, nurses, reception staff, medical students, and allied health professionals.
We are now seeking a dedicated, proactive, and experienced Practice Manager to lead our growing practice and help shape its future direction.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in practice management in a general practice setting
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of Medicare, billing, compliance, and healthcare systems
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
  • Experience with Best Practice (BP) clinical software and HotDoc (preferred)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for innovation and community-focused care

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in General Practice management.
  • Strong business development skills.
  • Expertise in liaising with accountants on financial matters.
  • In-depth understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule.
  • Knowledge of 5th RACGP Standards and Accreditation requirements.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Practice Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinic, driving growth, ensuring compliance, and leading our team with professionalism and care. This is a key leadership role with scope to make a real difference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day clinic operations
  • Lead, mentor, and support reception and clinical support staff
  • Manage rosters, doctor and nurse diaries, and room allocation
  • Liaise with RACGP, PHN, medical universities, and third parties for teaching and registrar placements
  • Work on strategic growth of the practice, including marketing and promotion of services
  • Assist with accreditation, compliance, and quality improvement
  • Work on HotDoc and other digital systems for bookings, recalls, and patient engagement
  • Seek out and apply for funding or tender opportunities (e.g. PHN projects)
  • Oversee MyMedicare enrolments and act as an advocate for the program
  • Support debt collection and oversee billing and payment processes
  • Liaise with local nursing homes and aged care facilities
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of healthcare guidelines and inform staff accordingly
  • Report directly to the Principal GP and be the key point of contact for practice operations
