At Alba Medical Group, Lanarkshire, we are expanding our talented and dynamic general practice nurse team and are interested to receive applications from nurses at levels 5-6 developing the general practice nursing role in integrated community nursing teams - gov.scot (www.gov.scot).
We work collaboratively across close knit multi professional teams to provide quality health care to the populations we serve. We have GP clinical leads and Nurse consultants supporting our work and have regular education for our team and personal development. In order to enhance our existing team, we are inviting applications for General Practice Nurses (GPNs) at all stages of their career to join our vibrant, skilled, multi-disciplinary team.
AMG aims to enable communities to have healthy lives, by providing high quality, innovative and sustainable primary care services delivered by motivated and engaged teams. We recognise the central role of the general practice nurse within this goal and offer our nurses the opportunity to develop to their true potential. Our Lanarkshire Practices have circa. 37,000 patients across four sites in East Kilbride, Strathaven, Lanark and Coatbridge. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals with an interest in the management of long-term conditions, health promotion, cervical screening, and women’s health. The role is varied and the ability to work independently, with a flexible approach and excellent communication skills is essential. To meet service and training needs our nurses in Lanarkshire can be asked at times to work at any of our four sites, but we are currently looking to recruit nurses with a main base in Greenhills Health Centre, East Kilbride. Where needed cross site working offers you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with our patients, sites and members of our wider team.
We are committed to Continued Professional Development and have successfully supported new nurses to GPN to train into the role by supporting them to complete NHS Education for Scotland (NES) training, work towards advanced practice skills and by providing daily in-house mentoring. We are building an MS Teams knowledge and education sharing platform and we each have a professional development plan, regular huddles, and yearly appraisal. On a daily basis learning takes place across our teams where we all seek to share and support each other with our collective knowledge.
We aim to provide flexible working arrangements to suit your personal circumstances and promote a good work-life balance. You will be supported by a complement of Administrative staff, Office Supervisor, Site Manager and an expanding multi-disciplinary team including GPs, ANPs, Paramedics, Physician Associates, GPNs, Healthcare Assistants, MSK Practitioners, Primary Care Mental Health Nurses and Pharmacists. Competitive salary and attractive terms and conditions. Informal enquiries welcome.
Please contact Linda Butters for more information about the role and to arrange an informal visit, linda.butters@nhs.scot and/or Jennifer Boyd, Nurse Consultant - jennifer.boyd@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk.
