We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with valid nursing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, preferably a surgical or orthopaedic or similar-related nursing role.
  • Excellent clinical skills, including wound care, patient assessments, and pain management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.
  • Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) or similar is a plus.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in orthopaedics, sports medicine, or surgical nursing.
  • Familiarity with post-operative rehabilitation and physiotherapy processes.
  • Knowledge of sports science and or other sports or musculoskeletal interests
  • Leadership, management, business or other useful qualifications or experience
  • International experience or experience in various sectors of the healthcare environment
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The appointed Practice Nurse will have an important role in patient care, clinical communication & administration, business growth, and outreach activities within the practice and outside.
In addition to dealing with patients and other departments inside and outside our linked hospitals and clinics, this role will include interaction with referrers (GPs & physios), sports organisations, teams, athletes, clients,, and others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clinical and Practice Administration and Patient Care
  • Assist in pre-operative assessments and patient preparation for surgery, post-operative care, including wound management, pain control, and monitoring of patient progress.
  • Educate patients on post-operative care instructions and rehabilitation plans.
  • Monitor and manage patient recovery, offering support and advice throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in patient education programs and community outreach activities related to sports injuries and recovery.
