Description

An opportunity has arisen in the busy Finance Servicedesk team as a Practitioner carrying out a full range of financial activities including:

  • Accounts payable; initiation of payment runs to ensure invoices are paid according to payment terms and certify accuracy of output, respond to supplier queries
  • Accounts receivable; cash receipting, making payment arrangements, debt collection, recurring billing, Bacway payment processing and cash allocation
  • Financial support and advice to staff and service users
  • General ledger maintenance

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a financial environment
  • Qualified or part qualified AAT or relevant knowledge, skills and experience
  • Good Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to deal with difficult customers
  • Experience of using IT systems and software such as Microsoft office with the ability to create and develop spreadsheets and other recording systems to underpin the key financial responsibilities of the post
  • Knowledge of financial systems, particularly general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, income management
  • Ability to deliver training to internal service users
  • Be able to plan and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
  • Effective customer service and relationship management skills
  • Practical knowledge of options for recovery action and ability to negotiate appropriately
