Based within an innovative and well-respected Staff Psychology Service, this varied and interesting role will include the provision of individual, group, and systemic interventions to support the psychological health and wellbeing of NHS staff. Our service is passionate about delivering impactful intervention and has excellent links across the organisation, which support our aim of working collaboratively, compassionately and proactively to improve staff wellbeing at BTHFT.
Following a restructure of provision, we have a vacancy to join the Staff Psychology Service which forms part of the Clinical Health Psychology Department at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This position is to provide 0.8 WTE, working as part of a warm, supportive Staff Psychology team which includes a CBT therapist and Lead Clinical Psychologist.
In the wider department we currently have 36 clinical staff including Clinical and Health Psychologists, Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists and Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Social Workers, and it also includes Adult Health, Paediatric Health and Neuropsychology services.

There will be regular opportunities to review your needs at work and we actively develop spaces for colleagues to connect through shared tasks and/or shared clinical interests. We have a budget for CPD and provide yearly appraisal with a linked development plan. You will have access to regular clinical supervision in line with recommendations for your stage of career development as well as a range of formal and informal opportunities to support professional development such as our monthly in house CPD session and support to engage in relevant professional networks.

In addition to offering specialist psychological therapy focused on ameliorating the impact of work-related stressors or trauma, the post holder will also have the opportunity to deliver group-based intervention, supervision, and teaching and training. This may include, for example facilitating reflective practice spaces, providing support to teams after highly impactful events and facilitating training to equip and empower staff in supporting their team’s wellbeing. We are therefore looking for a Practitioner Psychologist or Psychotherapist with an interest, and preferably some experience in, in working therapeutically with trauma, working with groups and an interest in systemic approaches.
The postholder will be based at St Luke’s Hospital however as in reach input is an essential aspect of service delivery regular travel to the Bradford Royal Infirmary site will be expected as well as travel to community locations
