JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge:
    a. Must have experience Estimating and/or installing multiple systems provided by Beacon/Comtel,
    including but not limited to, Access Control, Video Surveillance, Paging, Nurse Call, and Infant
    Protection.
    b. Must know Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
    c. Must be self-motivated and punctual.
    d. Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills both internally and
    externally.
    e. Must have experience with the following systems but not limited to, Rauland-Borg, Hugs, Lenel,
    Open Options, Milestone, Software House, and Hirsch systems.
  2. Skills and Abilities
    a. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in difficult situations with customers with various
    personalities and emotions.
    b. Must understand implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally
    adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Is frequently called upon to handle
    difficult situations and be held accountable for project outcomes.
    c. Strong team player
    d. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
  3. Education:
    a. High School Diploma or approved equivalent.
  4. Experience:
    a. Minimum one year of experience in the following, low voltage construction, estimating, or project
    budgeting.
    b. Minimum one year of experience Estimating and/or installing the systems listed above.
    c. Experience in low voltage estimating is a plus.

Responsibilities:

JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

Oversee and perform reparation of cost estimates for Beacon/Comtel low voltage construction projects, solutions or
services to determine price or products or services. The focus of this work will be on projects located in Beacons
West region but is not limited to this region. This job is accountable to mitigate as much risk as possible for
Beacon/Comtel in the projects that are being bid on. Will be the main communication bridge between the sales
department and operations for all projects that are won to make for an easy transition from proposed to accepted
projects. Main duties will include analyzing information from site walks and RFP documents. Putting that
information into Beacon/Comtel standard documents to generate detailed expenses related to the project, i.e.,
materials, labor, and other factors. Providing the sales team with a detailed proposal to send to the customer on time. The pay scale for this role is between $85,000 and $100,000 commensurate with relevant job experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Predict the expense of future projects or products by analyzing monetary costs and other factors.
  2. Break down all expenses related to project including materials, labor, and other resources.
  3. Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare, time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  4. Perform onsite investigations before, during and after a project.
  5. Work with engineers to interpret blueprints or conceptual drawings.
  6. Calculate labor hours necessary to complete a project.
  7. Position yourself as a consultant to both internal and external customers.
  8. Demonstrate thorough understanding of Beacon/Comtel policies, procedures and guidelines.
  9. Overnight travel, as necessary.
  10. Review drawings with Project Management team and highlight areas of concern.
  11. Demonstrate understanding of Beacon/Comtel projects and focus on continued skill development in all
    areas.
  12. Arrive for work on time, dressed in a professional manner acceptable for the work to be performed.
  13. leadership duties as assigned.
  14. Realizing that customer relations and customer satisfaction is our primary goal, perform in a professional
    manner demonstrating courtesy and respect to Beacon/Comtel customers.
  15. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
  16. Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, well-organized.
  17. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  18. Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access,
    PowerPoint and Outlook.
  19. Demonstrate effective troubleshooting and problem isolation skills.
  20. Ability to think on your feet.
  21. Ability to effectively communicate with customers in stressful environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and
    eye-hand coordination for data input.
  2. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  3. Must maintain a clear background check to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
  4. Must be willing to submit to all vaccinations and screening tests required for customer jobsite badging
    protocol.
  5. Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol.
  6. 20-30% travel requirement, as needed.
