Job Description
Establishing how much the various elements of building is going to cost before it proceeds, is the main role of an Estimator.
At King & Moffatt Building Services, our team of Estimators establish how much the Mechanical, Electrical and Sprinkler Services are going to cost in tenders we receive on a daily basis.
The Pre-Contract Estimator Graduate Programme is a key initiative for talent development here at King & Moffatt Building Services.

Graduates will participate in a four-year programme, made up of staged placement periods within King & Moffatt’s various departments including:

  • Pre-Contract
  • EHSQ (Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality)
  • Off-Site Facility
  • Operations
  • Design/BIM
  • Commercial

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Excellent communication organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn and get full value from the programme.
  • Team player who takes pride in their work

Responsibilities
  • Establish what the client wants by reviewing and interpreting the information provided in the tender packs and engaging with the client’s team of professionals.
  • Quantify the materials and labour required to complete the project utilising King & Moffatt Building Services software and database and engaging with our supply chain.
  • Research labour, materials & equipment costs by engaging with our supply chain.
  • Request quotes from the supply chain (sub-contractors, suppliers, specialists, etc) and analysing these quotes.
  • Establish and assess the level of risk on the project.
  • Prepare and review tender submissions.
  • Participate in post tender activities to assist with winning the project.
