Position Overview:
Job Title: Pre-K After-School Teacher
Location: The Art Farm NYC – New York, NY 10128
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (12–20 hours per week; flexible days available)
Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on credentials and experience)
Position Type: Part-time September - January

✔ QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred for Lead Teacher roles.
  • Experience with Pre-K/Kindergarten or Grades 1–5 students.
  • Background in leading group activities, including art, science, or cooking.
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AS AN AFTERSCHOOL TEACHER:

As a Pre-K afterschool teacher, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in our Pre-K group. You will lead group activities, facilitate hands-on learning experiences, and ensure the safety and well-being of all students in your care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Classroom & Activity Management

  • Lead small group activities in art, science, and cooking.
  • Provide homework assistance, enrichment activities, and supervised free play.
  • Maintain an organized, positive, and engaging classroom environment.

Student Safety & Supervision

  • Monitor students during playground time, transitions, and dismissal.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all children at all times.
  • Address any behavioral concerns in collaboration with the Director.

Program Support

  • Assist in implementing the daily program structure, including attendance, snack time, and physical activities.
  • Complete required daily or weekly paperwork, such as attendance logs and reports.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Contribute to a fun and dynamic after-school experience, supporting the mission of The Art Farm NYC.
