Description Healthy Kids Programs is seeking Pre-Kindergarten Teachers for three (3) classrooms at Beekman Elementary School, Poughquag, NY. Location: Beekman Elementary School, Poughquag, NY Pay: $38,500.00 – $44,000.00 per year (based on qualifications and experience) Job Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 2:15 PM, following the Arlington Central School District 2025–2026 calendar Featured Benefit: Employer-Paid Childcare Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 3–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. This role provides four-year-olds with a high-quality early learning experience that builds a strong foundation for Kindergarten. The ideal candidate is creative, culturally responsive, and passionate about early childhood development, with experience in early literacy, multi-disciplinary approaches, and strategies for diverse learners. This position emphasizes child-centered learning, literacy and numeracy development, social-emotional growth, and collaboration with colleagues and families. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate Pre-K program aligned with UPK School District requirements Design and teach culturally responsive lessons Assess, track, and provide timely feedback on student progress and development Use positive, age-appropriate guidance strategies Build strong relationships with staff and families through professional communication and engagement Collaborate with teacher assistants and other team members Design classroom environments following ECERS (Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale) Develop literacy and math-focused activities using the Creative Curriculum Participate in professional development and program evaluation Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Current NYS teaching certificate valid for service in the early childhood grades Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) Experience teaching preschool-age children EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE To be qualified as a Pre-K teacher, candidates must meet ONE of the following qualification options: (a) New York State Certification Birth–Grade 2 (b) New York State Certification N–6 (c) New York State Certification P, K, 1–6 (d) Bachelor’s Degree & approved 5-Year Plan Additional Qualifications You have medical clearance to perform all job duties and are free from communicable diseases, including tuberculosis (TB). You bring a warm, friendly, and positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills when working with children, parents, and team members. You are professional, dependable, and punctual. You are able to meet the physical demands of the role, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
