FULL-TIME PRESCHOOL TEACHER (3-YEAR-OLDS)

Job Description: We are seeking a loving, passionate, and dedicated full-time preschool teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment for 3-year-old children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in accordance with our Catholic values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
Associate degree in early childhood or child development, or equivalent certification also accepted.
Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal and organizational skills a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Commitment to the values and teachings of the Catholic faith. Catechist Certification preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
State background check and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum and Catholic teachings. Scholastic News and Seeds Religion curriculum are used at St. Clare.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages children from diverse backgrounds and abilities to explore and learn.
  • Experience with classroom smart board technology and Google classroom a plus.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and support to ensure their growth, including progress reports and parent teacher conferences twice each year.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child’s development and any concerns. Knowledge of Class Dojo or other online communication platforms a plus.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience through early education professional learning community meetings that include the pre-k and kindergarten teachers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the school by participating or leading special school wide projects throughout the year (such as Advent and Field Day) and assisting with daily operations.
  • Compliance with professional development learning requirements set by the Archdiocese of Detroit and state of Michigan.
