Broughton Anglican College is a Pre Kinder to Year 12 Christian School in the Macarthur region and provides
exceptional educational opportunities to more than 1,400 students. Staff enjoy an innovative teaching
environment with supportive peers, students, parents and carers.
The Teacher’s Aide would join our Learning Support Team in supporting students with learning needs by
working closely with classroom teachers and other members of the Team.
Experience or training in similar roles would be of benefit, particularly in the area of emotional / behavioural
support of students in a Pre Kinder setting. A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or a
Certificate IV in Education Support would be advantageous.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants for the position of Teacher Aide must demonstrate at a minimum that they:

  • are a committed Christian, who is active in the life of a Reformed Evangelical Church
  • support the College’s vision of holistic Christian education
  • conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with the College ethos and Code of Conduct at all times,

modelling Christian maturity to the College community

  • have the ability to support students’s learning and development and assist to ensure that the College

provides quality Christian education to students

  • have excellent communication and relational teaching skills
  • have knowledge of relevant compliance requirements in schools
  • holds a valid Working with Children Check in NSW (WWCC)
  • willingness and ability to work in a flexible manner within a team environment
Responsibilities

The Teachers Aide will:

  • implement planned education programs both within the classroom and in individual or small groups

withdrawal

  • assist students in their learning activities in the classroom under direction of the classroom teacher

and/or Learning Support Coordinator

  • support students with additional needs which require one to one or small group withdrawal
  • support students in the learning of responsible behaviour and social skills
  • provide assistance and support to teachers and students as required
  • communicate progress and issues with students to the supervisor
  • attend team meetings
  • participate in professional learning
  • assist in supervision duties of small groups of students
  • undertake other duties as directed by the Principal
