Description MidAmerica Surgery Center is an advanced surgical facility led by a highly talented team of board-certified surgical professionals. Our team and support staff provides high-quality care to adult patients. We are seeking a PRN Staff Nurse with exceptional guest services skills, willing to go above and beyond for our patient's care. This candidate will report to our Nurse Manager/Clinical Director/ASC Administrator Candidate will assist in the efficient clinical operation of the surgery center. Candidate will also maintain proper documentation of patient medical records. Responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Assists with patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel. Functions within limits of Nurse Practice Act, facility and its policies and procedures, and performs in a comparable manner to peers with similar training, experience, and circumstances. PRN Pre-Op PACU position: must be available 2-3 days per week. Shifts are 8-10 hours per day; start and end times vary. Position Responsibilities also include: Performs a complete and thorough patient assessment with documentation of all necessary information in the patient record. Assesses physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients within the scope of knowledge and experience base. Applies knowledge base and uses available resources in assessment process. Provides written assessment of patient before and subsequently in the nursing process. Summarizes assessment data and communicates to other care providers. Implements clinical and technical aspects of patient care and nursing orders in accordance with established policies and procedures. Intervenes to meet individual patient needs. Documents nursing intervention, patient response, and complications. Utilizes in-house resources to enhance quality of patient care. Evaluates nursing care provided. Reviews and evaluates effectiveness of intervention and implementation. Reviews and evaluates own nursing practice as compared to standards of care and original plan of care as supported by peers and other resource personnel. Contributes to clinical operations by cooperation, effective communication, and appropriate actions. Works with other clinical staff to maintain smooth patient flow and avoid long patient wait times. Responds positively to constructive criticism. Attends meetings and in-services. Obtains needed information if absent. Assists in the orientation and training of new staff members. Adheres to policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook. Work schedules may change based on business demands. Overtime may also be required with prior management authorization. Adheres to and upholds the mission and values of the organization in all communications and work duties Requirements Requirements: Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility: Current State RN license If BLS and ACLS are not current upon hire, successful completion of a course is required within 90 days of hire.
