Using Adobe Creative Suite, Packz, and an automated workflow system, this position transforms customer-supplied files into optimized layouts that align with press and finishing specifications. The Prepress Artist ensures all files meet rigorous standards for color, registration, trapping, and die alignment, while responding quickly to shifting priorities and tight deadlines. This role is essential to maintaining production efficiency, quality consistency, and customer satisfaction, serving as the vital link between design intent and flawless print execution.   Key Responsibilities: * Prepare print-ready files using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Packz in accordance with flexographic and digital press specifications. * Interpret and manipulate customer-supplied artwork to meet technical requirements for trapping, die alignment, step-and-repeat, and bleed. * Operate within an automated workflow system to process files accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct layer naming, color profiles, and output settings. * Perform quality checks on incoming files, flagging and correcting technical issues related to resolution, font embedding, barcodes, and print tolerances. * Generate color-accurate proofs and soft/hard copy mockups for internal approvals and customer sign-offs. * Apply and verify appropriate color management settings, including ICC profiles and ink density limits based on press calibration standards. * Collaborate with account managers, CSR, and production teams to meet deadlines, clarify customer expectations, and resolve file-related challenges. * Maintain version control and organized file structures in compliance with internal SOPs and data integrity protocols. * Adapt quickly to last-minute changes, rush jobs, or priority shifts, balancing accuracy with speed in a production-driven setting. * Support continuous improvement by participating in process reviews, workflow upgrades, and cross-functional training initiatives.   Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical training or coursework preferred * Prior experience in the printing or packaging industry strongly preferred * Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, Packz, and InDesign is beneficial * Familiarity with Label Traxx and Hybrid Software is a plus * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) is advantageous * Ability to accurately interpret job tickets, customer specifications, and layout instructions * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing precise, high-quality work * Comfortable working independently and following established workflows with minimal supervision * Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines * Competency in basic math and general computer operations * Familiarity with hand tools and measuring instruments (e.g., rulers, calipers, magnifiers) * Demonstrated ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced production environment * Alignment with company values, including accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement   Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Inovar Packaging Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
