Description

Prioritizes and organizes work to ensure customer art files are fully prepared to go to production line, while ensuring overall productivity, quality standards, deadlines and customer specifications are achieved.  SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY: * Verify customer specifications and complete all preflight responsibilities in order to meet client and production needs in an offset print shop * Troubleshoot and prepare customer art files including printing separations, color correction, text edits, retouching and some design * Prepare PDF’s and color proofs including mockups and 3D models as necessary for customer approval * Create stepped layouts and assist in printing plates as needed * Consistently seek opportunities to improve processes, procedures and automation that will positively impact productivity, accuracy and overall quality to better serve our customers; work with the team to present new ideas and improvements to Supervisor.  * Actively research current industry trends, new product innovations and modern technologies that will better improve support to SCT customers and enable the team to provide distinctive service. * Provide Customer Service with full support from incoming art to press ready printing plates * Collaborate with CAD design, Production, Customer Service and Sales through entire pre-press/design workflow process in order to meet customer specifications and quality standards * Support internal departments with various graphics requests to promote, market, and communicate both internally and outside of SCT * Assist in implementing new technology and testing as needed to keep up with advancements in the graphics field  * Ensure certification requirements and specifications are met (ie: GMI color control, G7 certification, software upgrades) * Ensure proper equipment maintenance as related to safety, productivity, quality and service  QUALIFICATIONS:  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3+ years of experience in Pre-Press production / operations including offset and digital print; 2-year or 4 year Technical / Vocational Degree in related field is a plus; requires knowledge of color separations, trapping, imposition, color management concepts / color theory, proofing and artwork file layout; solid proficiency with MAC systems and graphics software such as Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with Esko Automation Products (Webcenter) is a plus; Packaging / folding carton industry experience is strongly preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand complex documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, and communicate in English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read measurements. Use formulas to calculate and analyze data. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with arms and hands. Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds. A person must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with any applicable breaks during day) on a regular basis.
