Description Full-Time (40 hours) Responsible for registering patients by obtaining individual identifying and demographic data for the patient’s permanent medical record. This position requires that patients are registered/admitted in an accurate and timely manner. Functions of the Position (not an exhaustive list): Register patients efficiently and accurately Maintains accuracy when obtaining information from an insurance company, physician's office staff, co-workers, to avoid miscommunication Able to notify the scheduler in situations if patient needs to be rescheduled due to issues- i.e.: medical necessity – waiting on new order Communicates schedule changes to Outpatient Surgery, Admitting, Radiology/Imaging, and any other departments affected Requirements Qualifications: Education: High school graduate or equivalent Hospital/Clearance experience preferred Physical Demands: • Requires sitting for long periods, sometimes in a confined space • Lifting/carry up to 30 lbs • Push up to 250 lbs • Repetitive finger movement • Repetitive twisting and pressure involving hand and finger mobility • Reaching at all levels • Stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching • Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens • Working around machinery with moving parts
