Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT)
This role is to work as a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician, learning and practicing the knowledge skills and behaviours required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician. You will complete a training programme allowing you to experience all aspects of pharmacy.
This is a 2-year full-time, fixed term apprenticeship , starting in February 2026 , which will result in you completing the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians, which is required to enable you to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician. This PTPT training will be hospital based, primarily within the Pharmacy Department, Harplands Hospital.
You will gain experience in all aspects of pharmacy services including ward based clinical pharmacy where you will be interviewing patients about their medications on admission, working as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure all medications are available for the patient, including the provision of leave & / or discharge medication. You will be trained in dispensing, medicines optimisation, stock management and procurement.
